BREAKING NEWS:
IRS Allows Cost-Sharing Exemption for COVID-19 Screening, Testing, and Vaccination

On March 11, 2020, the IRS released Notice 2020-15, titled High Deductible Health Plans and Expenses Related to COVID-19, to extend pre-deductible coverage for medical services used to test for, and treat the virus. The guidance allows health plans and employers to reduce or eliminate cost-sharing for screening, treatment, and vaccination of COVID-19, including enrollees in High-Deductible Health Plans paired with Health Savings Accounts (HSA-HDHP). By reducing and eliminating cost-sharing for high-value health care, the guidance enhances access and affordability to essential health care services related to the Coronavirus.
