On Tuesday, June 27, Dr. A. Mark Fendrick, MD, Director of the Center for Value-Based Insurance Design (V-BID), spoke at an event hosted by the Healthcare Career Advancement Program in Chicago, IL.

The HCAP is a coalition of Labor Management Training Funds, whose Taft-Hartley members are jointly funded by labor unions and health care employers. This meeting was attended by the directors and key staff of these organizations. The mission is to drive workforce initiatives that create better jobs and career pathways for current workers and to address and shortages or skill needs of the employers.

Dr. Fendrick spoke about value-based purchasing, the future of healthcare given the changes to the ACA, and how these changes might impact workforce needs.
