On Tuesday, July 18, Alliance for Health Policy held a half-day summit in Washington, DC to examine how to improve care for patients with complex chronic conditions.  Summit sessions included Future Trends in Chronic Care, Coverage and Chronic Care, and the Future of Integrated Care for Complex Chronic Conditions: What’s Working, What’s Not.

Dr. A. Mark Fendrick, MD, Director of the Center for Value-Based Insurance Design (V-BID), spoke during the Coverage and Chronic Care Panel from 10:15 – 11:15am, alongside Allyson Schwartz, Rebecca Kirch, and Kathleen Nolan.  The panel explored the role of public and private health insurance in covering people with chronic conditions, what benefit structures make the most sense in preventing and managing chronic conditions, and what role patients can take in preventing and managing chronic conditions.
