On Wednesday, August 16, Dr. A. Mark Fendrick, MD, Director of the Center for Value-Based Insurance Design (V-BID), spoke at the 2017 National Conference on Health Communication, Marketing and Media.

The Conference is hosted by the National Public Health Information Coalition (NPHIC) and the Society for Health Communication.  The two organizations geared the conference around 4 tracks;”To Explore Innovative Communication Tools and Technologies”, “To Advance Science”, “To Improve Practice”, and “To Bridge Divides”. Dr. Fendrick opened the morning sessions on Thursday from 8-9:30am. He spoke on the important of Value-Based care during a session called  “Health Disparities in Appalachia”.
