On Friday, July 22, Dr. A. Mark Fendrick, Director of the Center for Value-Based Insurance Design (V-BID), will speak at the Michigan Association of Health Plans‘ Annual Summer Conference in Acme, MI. The four day conference will include a debate of current healthcare policy and budget concerns as well as discussions on the challenges to healthcare, common issues affecting health plans, and the current status of healthcare reform and initiatives affecting the managed care industry of Michigan.
Dr. Fendrick’s session, entitled “Value-Based Insurance Design: Changing the Health Care Discussion from How Much to How Well”, will explore how the application of V-BID can align patients’ out-of-pocket costs with the value of health services and improve health outcomes at any level of health care expenditure. The presentation also reviews existing evidence on V-BID and provides an overview of its implementation in public and private payers.
